- Jeep® elevates icon — all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler is “the best ever”
- New models expand Jeep’s global lineup and customer appeal
Detroit, Jan 9, 2006 -
The Jeep® brand continues to offer customers “more” with its expansion of rugged, versatile, innovative four-wheel-drive vehicles, further solidifying its standing as the global leader in the sport-utility market.
Hot on the trails of the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2006 Jeep Commander, the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler — the icon of the Jeep brand — underscores the brand’s commitment to its core attributes of freedom, adventure, mastery, authenticity and capability.
“With the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler, we are growing the Jeep brand by further solidifying its foundation,” said Jeff Bell, Vice President – Jeep, Chrysler Group. “Jeep Wrangler remains true to its heritage and is better in every way. It’s simply the best Wrangler ever.”
Elevating the Jeep brand’s “go anywhere, do anything” mantra, the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler gives customers more off-road capability, more interior space and comfort, more on-road refinement, more power and more open-air fun. With innovative removable and convertible tops, removable doors and a fold-down windshield, Jeep Wrangler provides customers with a one-of-a-kind driving experience.
“After 65 years of 4x4 leadership, Jeep Wrangler does not have any direct competition,” said Bell. “Approximately 80 percent of Wrangler customers do not consider another vehicle.”
The Jeep Wrangler customer is truly unique in that many have wanted a Wrangler for years. “I’ve always wanted one” is a commonly expressed sentiment. Wrangler owners may be virtually any age, but tend to share many common values: they are adventurous, outdoor people seeking excitement, physical challenge and personal freedom.
Later this year, Jeep will also launch the all-new 2007 Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot, effectively growing Jeep’s appeal to all-new customers, with compact Jeep 4x4s that deliver fun, freedom, utility, capability, as well as exceptional fuel economy and interior flexibility — all at a great value. These new vehicles will expand the brand’s global lineup, which now includes Jeep Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty (Cherokee outside North America) and the legendary Jeep Wrangler.
The Jeep brand continues to gain momentum with 2005 sales up more than 10 percent. Over 400,000 Jeep SUVs were sold in the U.S. last year.
